Have you ever wondered how Whatcom County’s first AAHA accredited veterinary hospital came to be called Kulshan Veterinary Hospital? Was there a Dr. Kulshan who started the practice or was the original building on Kulshan Street? Neither are the case.
The name Kulshan Veterinary Hospital was derived from the Indian name for Mt. Baker: Koma Kulshan which means White Steep Mountain. Our practice became known as Kulshan shortly after being purchased from Drs. Ernie and Virginia Streets. At the time of purchase, the practice was operating out of a home on Front Street and known as Streets Veterinary Service. Kulshan has been providing veterinary care for large and small animals for over fifty years.
