What Can My Pet Expect During Their Stay?

Boarding animals are cared for with a great deal of TLC. Dogs are treated to multiple long walks each day and even time in our enclosed play area when conditions permit. Since cats aren’t as keen on walks, they’re given play time within the boarding area to help them stretch their legs. Dog runs and cages are cleaned and new bedding is provided daily. Cats also have fresh litter every day! Mostly importantly, of course, everyone receives lots of love and care!

What Should I Bring With My Pet?

You can bring as much or as little as you like for you pet during his/her stay at Kulshan. We provide Science Diet Sensitive Stomach formula dry and canned. This food is made to be easier on your pet’s intestinal tract if switching from a different food. If your pet has a special food, or you want to bring your own, feel free to do so. We also provide bedding for your pets, but, again, if your pet has a special blanket or bed that they feel at home in, you are welcome to bring them. Their own toys are welcome too! Please bring any medications or supplements your pet will need during their stay.

Where Will My Pet Stay?

For dogs, we have large and small runs as well as large cages available based on the size and activity level of your dog.   For cats, we have large and medium cages available.  Cats are most often housed outside of our kennel area, away from the noise and commotion of the dog runs and cages to provide as stress free of stay as possible.

When Can I Drop Off And Pick Up My Pet?

We have drop off available Monday-Saturday starting at 8 am. We ask that all boarding animals are dropped off no later than one hour prior to closing, 5:00 pm Monday-Friday and 4:00 pm on Saturday. This allows our boarding staff to get your pet all settled prior to the clinic closing that evening. Pick up is also available Monday-Saturday beginning at 8:00 am. Please leave yourself a few minutes when dropping off your pet to review instructions for your pet with our kennel staff. You can expedite this process by filling out a boarding admission form prior to dropping off your pet. Our boarding admission form can be found HERE

Please pick up your pet no later than 30 minutes prior to the clinic closing, 5:30 Monday-Friday and 4:30 on Saturday. At this time we are not able to have animals dropped off or picked up on Sundays or major holidays.

How Much Does It Cost?

Charges are based on the number of nights your pet stays with us. For dogs, it also is dependent on how much your dog weighs. Contact the clinic today for pricing specific for your pet!

What Vaccines Are Required?

For both cats and dogs, proof of current rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines is required.  Bordetella, also known as the kennel cough vaccine, is also required for all dogs boarding.  Although not required, leptosporisis is highly recommended for all dogs boarding.  Unsure if your pet is current? Give us a call and we can check our records for you!

My Pet Takes Medication Daily, Can I Bring That With Them?

Yes, absolutely! One of our technicians is able to medicate your pet specifically to their individual needs. Please bring all medications and supplements with your pet when checking in for boarding. There is an additional fee to medicate your pet.

Can I Take A Tour Of Your Boarding Facility?

Absolutely! Feel free to ask our customer service representatives at our front desk for a tour of the kennels next time you’re at the clinic! Note: The tour of the kennels starts by walking through our small animal treatment, therefore, on a rare occasion we may be unable to currently give a tour due to emergencies or other circumstances taking place in our small animal treatment area.

How Far Out Should I Book My Reservation?

Since we have a limited amount of cages and runs available, our facility does tend to book up early over major holidays and popular weekends. We recommend booking as soon as possible, especially for these occasions. We do our best to accommodate special situations on a case-by-case basis. Call today to check our availability!

Do You Offer Grooming Services During Boarding Stays?

No, at this time we do not have full grooming services available at our clinic. Technicians are able to trim your pet’s nails or express your pet’s anal glands during their stay.  If you are looking for full grooming services we would be happy to make a recommendation.

Do You Offer Day Boarding?

Yes, a day boarding charge is 75% of the regular boarding charge for your pet. Your pet still receives 100% of the TLC though!

I Have A Bird, Can I Board It With You?

Yes, we are able to make boarding accommodations for some other types of pets, like birds and rabbits. Cages are required to be brought with all birds and may be required with small mammals, such as rats or rabbits.  Please call our office for more information.
